You can access Teide National Park from the southern slope of the island. The journey includes a walk through the Canary Islands pine forest and the village of Vilaflor, Spain's highest town. As you progress, you'll arrive at Cañadas del Teide, boasting a colossal 17-kilometer diameter caldera. Here, you'll encounter diverse landscapes, from moon-like scenery to UNESCO-listed rock formations. At the backdrop stands the summit of Mount Teide, Spain's highest peak and the world's third-largest volcano, towering at 3,718 meters.
At the base of the cable car, you have the option to ascend to an altitude of 3,500 meters. Be prepared, as temperatures can drop significantly at such heights, so remember to bring warm clothing. After soaking in the panoramic views of the Ucanca valley, you'll descend along the southwestern slope, offering a distinct landscape reminiscent of walking on the Moon.
