El Teide
 is an active strato-volcano, with the summit 3718m above sea-level. This makes him the highest peak of Spain, and the third highest volcano in the world.

The National Park: Las Cañadas del Teide, is situated at a hight of 2000m and has a particular climate, which makes that his flora is unique in the world.

The great amount of rocky areas of volcanic origin make that the Teide and his park are a obliged destiny for any visitor of Tenerife.

The Teide has always been important for the island, the ancient natives thought it was the house of the angry god, the Romans called it Nivaria (snow-land) ,for the sailors it  was a point of referency, and today the park is visited by more than 3 million visitors every year.
The National Park has been declared Worldheritage of Humanity by the Unesco in 2007.
